HELPING: ANOTHER WAY

TO MEET CHRIST !

Volunteer?

The retreats have been possible since 2014 thanks to dozens of young people and couples who have come to help us on a voluntary basis. Volunteers have an essential role: welcoming an average of 35 children per weekend. There is a big need for help!

You can become an ‘angel’ for the week-end, in other words, taking care of the children during their prayer school.  This means helping children enter into a prayerful attitude, accompanying them in activities and playing with them.

Help as a young person

Any young person from the age of 18 who has a good sense of humour and is creative and up for a challenge can come to help us, even without personal experience of retreats. We train our young volunteers who are supervised by adults who are experienced in accompanying children and running a spiritual weekend.

The diocese is very vigilant about the supervision of children and requires each volunteer to have a DBS check / casier judiciaire vierge

‘These weekends have been an opportunity to live a very spiritual time and experience a real retreat, even if I was busy helping with the children’s groups. The quality of the relationships in the group of volunteers and with the couples in charge were wonderful. The time spent with the children was lovely and there were very beautiful moments of prayer and sharing: the children taught us. I was also challenged to dig deeper into the subject of mercy so that I could talk about it. I rediscovered things and learned to know St Faustine better!’

Help as a family

After experiencing a PULSE weekend, couples have expressed the desire to return to help out so that other families can live this encounter with Christ.

This can be done in different ways: taking a key role during the weekend (housekeeper, responsible for children's retreats, liturgy), helping with the children’s retreats or helping with  fundraising or communication.

The needs of PULSE vary each year.

Conditions to come to help as family:

- Have experienced a PULSE weekend

- Adhere to the vision and mission of PULSE (available here in french)

- Desire to grow in prayer and faith life

- Meet Clemence and Mathieu Delmotte for an evening of introduction & training
